Recap: Suki Mulberg Altamirano and Liz Anthony on Shine Strong Podcast

Ready to take your small business to the next level? Well, you're in luck! Earlier this week, our co-founders Suki Mulberg Altamirano and Liz Anthony were featured on the 40th episode of the Shine Strong Podcast hosted by Leah LeRae. For each episode, LaRae highlights successful everyday women and delves deep into how they attain their goals, hopefully inspiring her listeners to do the same.

Altamirano and Anthony gave their insight on how small businesses can find their footing in the public relations realm if they do not have the desire or the resources to hire a PR firm. With over 20 years of combined public relations experience, Altamirano and Anthony certainly know a thing or two for entrepreneurs who need to conduct their own public relations.

"PressReady is a set of digital downloads that feature expert guides, tips, customizable templates, sample pitches, all you need to know to be able to put together your own PR campaign, build your own media list, work with influencers and build a media kit for them. It gives you all the tips and the materials and insight to be able to do it on your own," said Altamirano, co-founder of PressReady and founder of Lexington Public Relations, which is a boutique agency based in Nashville and New York City.

"We decided to come up with PressReady as an alternative to those that can't afford representation and just really want to hit the ground running themselves," said Anthony. "You're in charge of the ownership of your content and the direction of that storytelling, but there's a lot of groundwork that needs to be laid before you're going to try and pivot that to the media." Anthony is the co-founder of PressReady and founder of Mariposa Communications in New York City.

Gaining visibility, the do's and don'ts of pitching, and telling your company's story effectively are just some of the PR strategies Anthony and Altamirano touched on throughout the 30-minute podcast.

"It's providing all of the insight we have in a succinct manner and materials that can be referenced again and again,” said Altamirano. “It’s really a self-serve PR platform that incorporates our two decades of experience in PR and a lot of proven techniques that are used to secure media coverage and to get you’re story out there.”
